I didn't think the Velcro would be able to hold up, but the configuration surprised me. The fit is infinitely versatile, so you don't have to worry about your ankle being too small or the straps being too long/large. They even fit snug around the wrist if you want to use them for tricep extensions; they can be wrapped tight enough so that you don't have to worry about them sliding past your fist during an exercise. It also has good cushioning for comfort.
